Classical Jam with the ISO
While meeting with several prominent music educators & ISO musicians, we unearthed two unaddressed community needs. The first being that teachers, even those who serve in the same district, do not have the opportunity to connect with one another as colleagues to network, share ideas, and fellowship during the school year. The second is that music educators are not often recognized as musicians in their own right. As a result, and with input from educators and musicians, I created Classical Jam with the ISO.
The mission of Classical Jam is to provide a direct point of engagement between non-professional adult musicians in the community (including music teachers) and the musicians of the ISO.
Over the course of 5 years, we welcomed over 180 musicians to share the Hilbert Circle Theatre stage with their professional counterparts.
